Residential activity reported through the MLS® System of the Central Alberta REALTORS® Association remained down from year-ago levels in June 2010.
According to statistics provided by the Board, home sales numbered 313 units in June 2010, a decline of 32 per cent from the same month last year.
Provincial activity, by comparison, was down 35 per cent on a year-over-year basis in June.
The dollar value of all home sales totalled $83.2 million in June 2010, down 33 per cent from a year earlier.
The dollar value of all homes sold in the province also declined 33 per cent from year-ago levels.
Total sales activity was down 30 per cent from a year earlier to 373 units in June.
The total value of all property sales amounted to $102.8 million in June 2010, down 32 per cent from year-ago levels.
New residential listings on the Association's MLS® System climbed 14 per cent from a year earlier to 991 units in June.
There were 3,386 active residential listings on the Association's MLS® System at the end of June 2010, rising 26 per cent from the same month last year.
There were 10.8 months of inventory at the end of June 2010, well above the 5.8 months reported at the end of June 2009.
